The Grin2A Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0924) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the Grin2A protein, a subunit of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) involved in synaptic plasticity and learning. This antibody is produced in rabbits and has been validated for use in Western blot applications, providing reliable and specific detection of Grin2A in human samples.Grin2A plays a crucial role in mediating excitatory neurotransmission in the central nervous system, making it of interest for studies in neuroscience and neurological disorders. Dysfunction of NMDARs, including Grin2A, has been implicated in conditions such as schizophrenia, epilepsy, and neurodegenerative diseases, highlighting the importance of understanding the regulation and function of these receptors.
By utilizing the Grin2A Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can investigate the expression and localization of Grin2A in different cell types and tissues, advancing our knowledge of NMDAR function and its implications for brain function and disease pathology. This antibody is a valuable tool for investigating the role of Grin2A in various physiological and pathological processes, offering new insights into potential therapeutic targets for neurological disorders.

This gene encodes a member of the glutamate-gated ion channel protein family. The encoded protein is an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor subunit. NMDA receptors are both ligand-gated and voltage-dependent, and are involved in long-term potentiation, an activity-dependent increase in the efficiency of synaptic transmission thought to underlie certain kinds of memory and learning. These receptors are permeable to calcium ions, and activation results in a calcium influx into post-synaptic cells, which results in the activation of several signaling cascades. Disruption of this gene is associated with focal epilepsy and speech disorder with or without cognitive disability. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
