The GPR153 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17884) is designed for research involving GPR153, a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) known for its potential role in various cellular processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the GPR153 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent tool for researchers in the fields of neuroscience and pharmacology.
GPR153 is a member of the GPCR family, which are involved in mediating responses to a wide range of stimuli and play a crucial role in signal transduction pathways. Studies have suggested that GPR153 may be implicated in neurological disorders and drug addiction, making it a promising target for drug development and therapeutic interventions. By understanding the function and regulation of GPR153, researchers can further elucidate its potential role in disease pathology and explore novel treatment strategies.

This gene encodes an integral membrane protein that belongs to the Class A rhodopsin superfamily of G protein coupled receptors. The encoded protein is expressed primarily in the central nervous system. A knockdown of the orthologous gene in rat is associated with a significant reduction in food intake and impaired decision making ability. Mutations in this gene are associated with schizophrenia, autism, and other neuropsychiatric disorders. The expression of this gene is activated by the glioma-associated oncogene homolog 1 transcription factor which, in turn, is activated by sonic hedgehog in normal and tumorigenic cells.
