The GPD2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16378) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the GPD2 protein, an enzyme involved in glycerol metabolism and lipid biosynthesis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the GPD2 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of GPD2 expression in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in metabolism, lipid biology, and related fields.GPD2 plays a crucial role in cellular energy metabolism and lipid metabolism, making it a key player in processes like glycerol utilization, lipid storage, and energy production.
Dysregulation of GPD2 has been linked to metabolic disorders, obesity, and even certain cancers, underscoring the importance of further research into its functions and regulatory mechanisms. By utilizing the GPD2 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the role of GPD2 in health and disease, paving the way for potential therapeutic interventions targeting this enzyme.
Product Name:
GPD2 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB16378
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 25-325 of human GPD2 (NP_000399.3).
The protein encoded by this gene localizes to the inner mitochondrial membrane and catalyzes the conversion of glycerol-3-phosphate to dihydroxyacetone phosphate, using FAD as a cofactor. Along with GDP1, the encoded protein constitutes the glycerol phosphate shuttle, which reoxidizes NADH formed during glycolysis. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
Purification Method:
Affinity purification
Gene ID:
2820
Storage Buffer:
Store at -20℃. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.Buffer: PBS with 0.02% sodium azide,50% glycerol,pH7.3.
Western blot analysis of various lysates, using GPD2 Rabbit pAb (CAB16378) at 1:2000 dilution.Secondary antibody: HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (CABS014) at 1:10000 dilution.Lysates/proteins: 25ug per lane.Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST.Detection: ECL Basic Kit (AbGn00020).Exposure time: 60s.
