The GPC3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12383) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Glypican-3 (GPC3), a cell surface protein that plays a key role in cell growth and development. The antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific and reacts strongly with human samples, making it ideal for use in a variety of research applications such as Western blotting.GPC3 is a member of the glypican family of heparan sulfate proteoglycans, and is involved in regulating cell signaling pathways related to growth factors like Wnt and Hedgehog.
Dysregulation of GPC3 has been implicated in various diseases, including hepatocellular carcinoma and Simpson-Golabi-Behmel syndrome.By enabling the detection and analysis of GPC3 protein expression in cells, tissues, and biological samples, this antibody is a valuable tool for investigating the role of GPC3 in disease development and progression. Its specificity and sensitivity make it a reliable choice for researchers looking to deepen their understanding of the molecular mechanisms involving GPC3.

Cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycans are composed of a membrane-associated protein core substituted with a variable number of heparan sulfate chains. Members of the glypican-related integral membrane proteoglycan family (GRIPS) contain a core protein anchored to the cytoplasmic membrane via a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol linkage. These proteins may play a role in the control of cell division and growth regulation. The protein encoded by this gene can bind to and inhibit the dipeptidyl peptidase activity of CD26, and it can induce apoptosis in certain cell types. Deletion mutations in this gene are associated with Simpson-Golabi-Behmel syndrome, also known as Simpson dysmorphia syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
