The GNRHR Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14487) is a valuable tool for research focused on the Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone Receptor (GNRHR), a key protein involved in reproductive function. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the GNRHR protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its expression in various cell types, making it well-suited for investigations in reproductive biology and endocrinology.
GNRHR plays a crucial role in regulating the release of reproductive hormones, making it a pivotal target for studying disorders of the reproductive system, such as infertility and hormonal imbalances. Furthermore, GNRHR is also implicated in certain types of cancer, highlighting its importance in oncology research. A thorough understanding of GNRHR activity is essential for developing targeted therapies that can effectively modulate reproductive hormone signaling pathways in health and disease.

This gene encodes the receptor for type 1 gonadotropin-releasing hormone. This receptor is a member of the seven-transmembrane, G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) family. It is expressed on the surface of pituitary gonadotrope cells as well as lymphocytes, breast, ovary, and prostate. Following binding of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, the receptor associates with G-proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Activation of the receptor ultimately causes the release of gonadotropic luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). Defects in this gene are a cause of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (HH). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. More than 18 transcription initiation sites in the 5' region and multiple polyA signals in the 3' region have been identified for this gene.
