The Glucocorticoid Receptor Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the glucocorticoid receptor, a key regulator of cellular responses to stress and inflammation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards the glucocorticoid receptor in human samples. It is validated for use in Western blotting applications, enabling researchers to detect and analyze the expression of this important protein in a variety of cell types. The glucocorticoid receptor is a crucial player in numerous physiological processes, including immune response regulation, metabolism, and development.
Dysregulation of this receptor has been implicated in various diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and metabolic disorders. By using the Glucocorticoid Receptor Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can gain insights into the role of this receptor in health and disease, paving the way for new therapeutic strategies targeting the glucocorticoid pathway.

This gene encodes glucocorticoid receptor, which can function both as a transcription factor that binds to glucocorticoid response elements in the promoters of glucocorticoid responsive genes to activate their transcription, and as a regulator of other transcription factors. This receptor is typically found in the cytoplasm, but upon ligand binding, is transported into the nucleus. It is involved in inflammatory responses, cellular proliferation, and differentiation in target tissues. Mutations in this gene are associated with generalized glucocorticoid resistance. Alternative splicing of this gene results in transcript variants encoding either the same or different isoforms. Additional isoforms resulting from the use of alternate in-frame translation initiation sites have also been described, and shown to be functional, displaying diverse cytoplasm-to-nucleus trafficking patterns and distinct transcriptional activities (PMID:15866175).
