The GFRA1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5373) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family receptor alpha 1 (GFRA1) protein. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.GFRA1 is a receptor for the GDNF ligand, playing a crucial role in the development and maintenance of the nervous system. Dysregulation of the GFRA1-GDNF signaling pathway has been associated with various neurological disorders, making it an important target for research in neurobiology and neurodegenerative diseases.
With its ability to specifically bind to the GFRA1 protein, this polyclonal antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze GFRA1 expression in a variety of cell types. By understanding the function and regulation of GFRA1, researchers can gain insights into potential therapeutic strategies for treating conditions related to neuronal development and degeneration.

This gene encodes a member of the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor receptor (GDNFR) family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature receptor. Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and neurturin (NTN) are two structurally related, potent neurotrophic factors that play key roles in the control of neuron survival and differentiation. This receptor is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked cell surface receptor for both GDNF and NTN, and mediates activation of the RET tyrosine kinase receptor. This gene is a candidate gene for Hirschsprung disease. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed.
