The GenieFluor Violet 450 Anti-Mouse/Human CD11b Antibody (M1/70) (AGEL2962) is a highly specific antibody designed for research involving CD11b, a molecule expressed on the surface of myeloid cells such as monocytes, macrophages, and granulocytes. This antibody, validated for use in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications, binds specifically to CD11b, allowing for accurate detection and analysis of this cell surface marker in mouse and human samples.CD11b, also known as integrin alpha M, plays a crucial role in the adhesion and migration of myeloid cells during inflammatory responses and immune surveillance. Its expression is often upregulated in various inflammatory conditions and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases such as atherosclerosis, arthritis, and infectious diseases.
Understanding the function and regulation of CD11b is essential for unraveling its role in immunity and inflammation, making this antibody a valuable tool for studies in immunology, inflammation, and related fields. With its high specificity and sensitivity, the GenieFluor Violet 450 Anti-Mouse/Human CD11b Antibody (M1/70) (AGEL2962) offers researchers a reliable reagent for investigating the expression and function of CD11b in diverse biological contexts. Whether studying immune cell populations in disease models, evaluating immune responses in vitro, or analyzing inflammatory processes in tissues, this antibody provides a robust tool for advancing our understanding of CD11b biology and its implications for human health.

Background:
CD11b is a 170 kD glycoprotein also known as αM integrin, Mac-1 α subunit, Mol, CR3, and Ly-40. CD11b is a member of the integrin family, primarily expressed on granulocytes, monocytes/macrophages, dendritic cells, NK cells, and subsets of T and B cells. CD11b non-covalently associates with CD18 (β2 integrin) to form Mac-1. Mac-1 plays an important role in cell-cell interaction by binding its ligands ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), ICAM-4 (CD242), iC3b, and fibrinogen.
