The GenieFluor Violet 450 Anti-Mouse CD71 Antibody (R17-217.1.3) Tib-219 (AGEL3243) is a powerful tool designed for researchers working with mouse samples to study CD71, a cell surface marker associated with iron metabolism and erythroid development. This antibody, optimized for use in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications, specifically targets CD71, allowing for precise detection and analysis in a variety of experimental settings.CD71, also known as transferrin receptor protein 1, plays a vital role in cellular iron uptake and is particularly important in erythroid cells for hemoglobin synthesis. By targeting CD71, researchers can gain insights into the regulation of iron homeostasis, erythropoiesis, and related physiological processes.
This antibody’s high specificity and sensitivity make it an invaluable tool for investigations in areas such as hematopoiesis, iron metabolism disorders, and cancer research involving tumor cell proliferation and iron utilization. With its ability to target CD71 in mouse samples, the GenieFluor Violet 450 Anti-Mouse CD71 Antibody (R17-217.1.3) Tib-219 (AGEL3243) offers researchers a reliable solution for studying the intricate mechanisms associated with iron metabolism and erythroid development in various biological contexts.

Background:
CD71 is a 95 kD type II heterodimeric transmembrane glycoprotein that is also known as T9 and transferrin receptor. CD71 is expressed on proliferating cells, reticulocytes, and erythroid precursors. Its expression is very low on resting leukocytes. CD71 plays a role in the control of cellular proliferation by facilitating the uptake of iron via ferrotransferrin binding and the recycling of apotransferrin to the cell surface.
