With implications in conditions such as acute myeloid leukemia and certain immunological disorders, CD33 serves as a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
By understanding the intricate functions of CD33 and its interactions, researchers can unravel new insights into disease mechanisms and potentially develop novel treatments. The GenieFluor Violet 450 Anti-Human CD33 Antibody (6C5) from AssayGenie provides researchers with a powerful tool to explore the functions and expression patterns of CD33 in various biological contexts. Its high specificity and reactivity ensure reliable results, making it a valuable asset for advancing research in immunology, oncology, and other related fields.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD33 is a 67 kD type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as Siglec-3, gp67, and p67. It is a sialoadhesion immunoglobulin superfamily member expressed on myeloid progenitors, monocytes, granulocytes, dendritic cells and mast cells. CD33 is absent on normal platelets, lymphocytes, erythrocytes and hematopoietic stem cells. CD33 functions as a sialic acid-dependent cell adhesion molecule with carbohydrate/lectin binding activity.
