GenieFluor Red 780 Anti-Mouse F4/80 Antibody [CI:A3-1]
The GenieFluor Red 780 Anti-Mouse F4/80 Antibody (CI:A3-1) is a highly specific antibody designed for research applications involving the F4/80 protein, a marker of mouse macrophages and related cell types. This antibody, raised in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity and specificity towards mouse samples, making it an excellent tool for immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry studies.Macrophages are essential components of the immune system, playing crucial roles in inflammation, tissue repair, and immune response modulation. The F4/80 protein is a well-established marker for identifying and studying these key immune cells in various tissues and disease contexts.
By targeting the F4/80 protein, researchers can accurately visualize and analyze macrophage populations, allowing for detailed investigations into their functions and interactions within the immune system. The GenieFluor Red 780 Anti-Mouse F4/80 Antibody (CI:A3-1) offers researchers a reliable and sensitive tool for studying macrophages in mouse models, providing valuable insights into immune responses, inflammatory processes, and disease mechanisms. Its specificity, sensitivity, and compatibility with various experimental techniques make it an indispensable reagent for studies in immunology, cancer biology, and related fields.

Background:
F4/80 is a 160 kD glycoprotein. It is characterized as a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF)-transmembrane 7 (TM7) family. F4/80, also known as EMR1 or Ly71, has been widely used as a murine macrophage marker, which is expressed on the majority of tissue macrophages including peritoneal macrophages, macrophages in lung, gut, thymus and red pulp of spleen (but not on the macrophages located in T cell areas of the spleen, lymph node and Peyer's patch), Kuffer cells, Langerhans cells, and bone marrow stromal cells. F4/80 has also been shown on a subset of dendritic cells. The biological ligand of F4/80 has not been identified, but it has been reported that F4/80 is required for induction of CD8+ T cells-mediated peripheral tolerance.
