The GDI2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8615) is a reliable tool for researchers studying GDI2, a key regulator of intracellular protein trafficking. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity in detecting GDI2 in human samples, making it ideal for Western blot applications. By binding to the GDI2 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, facilitating research in cell biology and molecular biology.
GDI2, also known as GDP dissociation inhibitor 2, plays a crucial role in the regulation of vesicular transport processes within cells. Dysregulation of GDI2 function has been implicated in various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and cancer. Investigating the molecular mechanisms of GDI2 can provide valuable insights into these disease processes and potentially lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting GDI2-related pathways.

GDP dissociation inhibitors are proteins that regulate the GDP-GTP exchange reaction of members of the rab family, small GTP-binding proteins of the ras superfamily, that are involved in vesicular trafficking of molecules between cellular organelles. GDIs slow the rate of dissociation of GDP from rab proteins and release GDP from membrane-bound rabs. GDI2 is ubiquitously expressed. The GDI2 gene contains many repetitive elements indicating that it may be prone to inversion/deletion rearrangements. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
