The GCLC Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1038) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the enzyme Glutamate-Cysteine Ligase Catalytic Subunit (GCLC), which plays a crucial role in the synthesis of glutathione, an important antioxidant in cells. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blotting applications.By binding to the GCLC protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis of GCLC levels in various cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in oxidative stress, detoxification, and immune responses.
Understanding the role of GCLC in cellular antioxidant defense mechanisms is essential for advancing research in the fields of cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and metabolic disorders.Overall, the GCLC Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable asset for researchers seeking to unravel the complexities of cellular antioxidant pathways and develop targeted therapies for diseases linked to oxidative stress. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a reliable choice for studies aiming to elucidate the role of GCLC in maintaining cell health and preventing oxidative damage.

Glutamate-cysteine ligase, also known as gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase is the first rate-limiting enzyme of glutathione synthesis. The enzyme consists of two subunits, a heavy catalytic subunit and a light regulatory subunit. This locus encodes the catalytic subunit, while the regulatory subunit is derived from a different gene located on chromosome 1p22-p21. Mutations at this locus have been associated with hemolytic anemia due to deficiency of gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase and susceptibility to myocardial infarction.
