The GBE1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6599) is a valuable tool for researchers studying GBE1, a key enzyme involved in glycogen metabolism. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the GBE1 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an essential component for investigations in glycogen storage diseases, metabolic disorders, and muscle function.
GBE1, also known as glycogen branching enzyme, plays a crucial role in the synthesis and degradation of glycogen, the main storage form of glucose in the body. Dysregulation of GBE1 activity is linked to a variety of metabolic disorders, including glycogen storage diseases, insulin resistance, and muscle dysfunction. By studying the function of GBE1, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these conditions and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for treatment.
Product Name:
GBE1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB6599
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-300 of human GBE1 (NP_000149.3).
The protein encoded by this gene is a glycogen branching enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of alpha-1,4-linked glucosyl units from the outer end of a glycogen chain to an alpha-1,6 position on the same or a neighboring glycogen chain. Branching of the chains is essential to increase the solubility of the glycogen molecule and, consequently, in reducing the osmotic pressure within cells. Highest level of this enzyme are found in liver and muscle. Mutations in this gene are associated with glycogen storage disease IV (also known as Andersen's disease).
