The GBA3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7827) is a valuable tool for researchers studying GBA3, a crucial enzyme involved in lipid metabolism. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the GBA3 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in biochemistry and lipid-related research.GBA3, also known as glucosylceramidase, is essential for the breakdown of glycosphingolipids, key components of cell membranes.
Dysregulation of GBA3 activity has been linked to lipid storage disorders and neurodegenerative diseases, highlighting the importance of studying this enzyme. By understanding the function and regulation of GBA3, researchers can gain insights into metabolic disorders and potentially develop targeted therapies for patients affected by these conditions.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-162 of human GBA3 (NP_001121904.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytosolic enzyme that can hydrolyze several types of glycosides. The enzyme has its highest activity at neutral pH and is predominantly expressed in human liver, kidney, intestine, and spleen. This gene is a polymorphic pseudogene, with the most common allele being the functional allele that encodes the full-length protein. Some individuals contain a single nucleotide polymorphism that results in a premature stop codon in the coding region, and therefore this allele is pseudogenic due to the failure to produce a functional full-length protein. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.
