The GAS8 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC019695) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the GAS8 protein, a key player in various cellular processes. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the GAS8 protein, this antibody facilitates the detection and analysis of GAS8 expression in different cell types, offering insights into its role in cellular function.GAS8, also known as growth arrest-specific protein 8, is involved in regulating cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis, making it a promising target for research in cancer biology and developmental biology.
By studying the function of GAS8, researchers can explore its potential implications in cancer progression, as well as its role in normal cellular processes. The GAS8 Polyclonal Antibody serves as a reliable tool for investigating the mechanisms underlying GAS8-mediated cellular functions and its potential as a therapeutic target in various disease contexts.

Background:
This gene includes 11 exons spanning 25 kb and maps to a region of chromosome 16 that is sometimes deleted in breast and prostrate cancer. The second intron contains an apparently intronless gene, C16orf3, that is transcribed in the opposite orientation. This gene is a putative tumor suppressor gene. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Synonyms:
growth arrest-specific 8
UniProt Protein Function:
GAS8: Cytoskeletal linker which binds microtubules and probably functions in axonemal and non-axonemal dynein regulation. May play a role in the spermatozoa motility. Belongs to the GAS8 family.Protein type: CytoskeletalChromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q24.3Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; microtubuleMolecular Function: Rab GTPase bindingBiological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; sperm motility
