The GALNT6 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14853) is a valuable tool for researchers studying GALNT6, a key enzyme involved in glycosylation processes. Raised in rabbits, this antibody is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the GALNT6 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it essential for studies in glycobiology and cancer research.GALNT6 is known for its role in catalyzing the first step of O-linked glycosylation, a crucial process for the modification of proteins and regulation of cellular functions.
Dysregulation of GALNT6 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions. The GALNT6 Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a powerful tool to further investigate the function and implications of GALNT6 in disease pathogenesis and progression.

This gene encodes a member of the UDP-N-acetyl-alpha-D-galactosamine:polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase (GalNAc-T) family of enzymes. GalNAc-Ts initiate mucin-type O-linked glycosylation in the Golgi apparatus by catalyzing the transfer of GalNAc to serine and threonine residues on target proteins. They are characterized by an N-terminal transmembrane domain, a stem region, a lumenal catalytic domain containing a GT1 motif and Gal/GalNAc transferase motif, and a C-terminal ricin/lectin-like domain. GalNAc-Ts have different, but overlapping, substrate specificities and patterns of expression. The encoded protein is capable of glycosylating fibronectin peptide in vitro and is expressed in a fibroblast cell line, indicating that it may be involved in the synthesis of oncofetal fibronectin.
