The GABRA1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12244) is a valuable tool for researchers studying GABRA1, a key protein involved in the function of GABA-A receptors in the brain. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. It binds to the GABRA1 protein, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for neuroscience and pharmacology research.GABRA1 is a member of the GABA-A receptor family, which plays a crucial role in the regulation of neuronal excitability and neurotransmission. Dysregulation of GABRA1 has been implicated in various neurological disorders, including epilepsy, anxiety disorders, and schizophrenia.
By studying the expression and function of GABRA1 using this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of these conditions and potentially identify new therapeutic targets.Overall, the GABRA1 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for investigating the role of GABRA1 in the brain and its potential implications for neurological disorders. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a valuable asset for researchers aiming to advance our understanding of GABAergic neurotransmission and its impact on brain function.

This gene encodes a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor. GABA is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian brain where it acts at GABA-A receptors, which are ligand-gated chloride channels. Chloride conductance of these channels can be modulated by agents such as benzodiazepines that bind to the GABA-A receptor. GABA-A receptors are pentameric, consisting of proteins from several subunit classes: alpha, beta, gamma, delta and rho. Mutations in this gene cause juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and childhood absence epilepsy type 4. Multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene.
