The GABPA Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12306) is a valuable tool for researchers studying GABPA, a transcription factor essential for regulating gene expression. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity towards human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the GABPA protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in molecular biology and cancer research.GABPA, also known as GA-binding protein alpha chain, plays a crucial role in controlling the expression of genes involved in cell growth, differentiation, and survival.
Its involvement in transcriptional regulation makes it a key player in various cellular processes, making it a promising target for understanding diseases such as cancer, developmental disorders, and neurological conditions. Research on GABPA can provide insights into its function and potential therapeutic applications in the treatment of these diseases.

This gene encodes one of three GA-binding protein transcription factor subunits which functions as a DNA-binding subunit. Since this subunit shares identity with a subunit encoding the nuclear respiratory factor 2 gene, it is likely involved in activation of cytochrome oxidase expression and nuclear control of mitochondrial function. This subunit also shares identity with a subunit constituting the transcription factor E4TF1, responsible for expression of the adenovirus E4 gene. Because of its chromosomal localization and ability to form heterodimers with other polypeptides, this gene may play a role in the Down Syndrome phenotype. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
