Description
FZD5/FZD8 Antibody (PACO05446)
The FZD5/FZD8 Polyclonal Antibody (PACO05446) is a versatile tool for researchers studying the Frizzled-5 (FZD5) and Frizzled-8 (FZD8) proteins, key players in the Wnt signaling pathway. This antibody, produced in rabbits, provides strong reactivity towards human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to FZD5 and FZD8, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of these important proteins in various cell types. The Wnt signaling pathway is involved in numerous biological processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and stem cell maintenance.
Dysregulation of this pathway has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and developmental disorders. By targeting FZD5 and FZD8, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these diseases and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets.Whether studying the role of Wnt signaling in cancer progression or investigating developmental processes, the FZD5/FZD8 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers seeking to advance our understanding of these critical signaling pathways.

UniProt Protein Function: | FZD5: Receptor for Wnt proteins. Most of frizzled receptors are coupled to the beta-catenin canonical signaling pathway, which leads to the activation of disheveled proteins, inhibition of GSK- 3 kinase, nuclear accumulation of beta-catenin and activation of Wnt target genes. A second signaling pathway involving PKC and calcium fluxes has been seen for some family members, but it is not yet clear if it represents a distinct pathway or if it can be integrated in the canonical pathway, as PKC seems to be required for Wnt-mediated inactivation of GSK-3 kinase. Both pathways seem to involve interactions with G-proteins. May be involved in transduction and intercellular transmission of polarity information during tissue morphogenesis and/or in differentiated tissues. Interacts specifically with Wnt5A to induce the beta- catenin pathway. Interacts with GOPC. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor Fz/Smo family. |
