The FUK Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17268) is a high-quality antibody designed for researchers studying FUK, a key enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of GDP-Fucose, an essential sugar molecule for various cellular processes. This rabbit polyclonal antibody is highly specific and reacts strongly with human samples, making it an ideal tool for Western blot analysis.FUK, also known as fucose kinase, plays a crucial role in the glycosylation process, where it catalyzes the phosphorylation of fucose to produce GDP-Fucose. This molecule is important for the synthesis of glycoproteins and glycolipids, which are involved in cell signaling, immune response, and other vital functions.
Research on FUK is essential for understanding its role in diseases such as cancer, genetic disorders, and immune-related conditions. By studying the expression and activity of FUK, researchers can gain insights into potential therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers for these diseases. The FUK Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17268) provides a reliable tool for investigating FUK in various cell types and tissues, advancing research in glycobiology and related fields.
Product Name:
FUK Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB17268
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 795-1084 of human FUK (NP_659496.2).
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the GHMP (galacto-, homoserine, mevalonate and phosphomevalonate) kinase family and catalyzes the phosphorylation of L-fucose to form beta-L-fucose 1-phosphate. This enzyme catalyzes the first step in the utilization of free L-fucose in glycoprotein and glycolipid synthesis. L-fucose may be important in mediating a number of cell-cell interactions such as blood group antigen recognition, inflammation, and metastatis. While several transcript variants may exist for this gene, the full-length nature of only one has been described to date.
