The FLG Polyclonal Antibody (CAB20011) is a specialized antibody designed for research involving Filaggrin (FLG), a key protein found in the outer layer of the skin. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting and immunohistochemistry.Filaggrin is essential for maintaining the skin barrier function and plays a critical role in protecting against environmental factors and preventing water loss. Mutations in the FLG gene have been associated with skin disorders such as eczema and other inflammatory skin conditions.
By using the FLG Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can study the expression and localization of filaggrin in different cell types and tissues, providing valuable insights into skin biology and disease pathogenesis. This antibody is a valuable tool for studying skin physiology, dermatological disorders, and skin barrier function. By understanding the role of filaggrin in skin health and disease, researchers can develop targeted therapies and interventions to improve skin conditions and advance personalized medicine approaches in dermatology.
Product Name:
FLG Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-92 of human FLG (NP_002007.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is an intermediate filament-associated protein that aggregates keratin intermediate filaments in mammalian epidermis. It is initially synthesized as a polyprotein precursor, profilaggrin (consisting of multiple filaggrin units of 324 aa each), which is localized in keratohyalin granules, and is subsequently proteolytically processed into individual functional filaggrin molecules. Mutations in this gene are associated with ichthyosis vulgaris.
