The FLG Monoclonal Antibody is a vital tool for researchers studying filaggrin, a key protein involved in skin barrier function and dermatological disorders. This antibody, derived from mouse hybridoma cells, shows strong specificity for filaggrin in human samples and is validated for use in immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry applications. By targeting and detecting filaggrin in skin tissue samples, this antibody enables detailed analysis of filaggrin expression and localization, making it invaluable for research in dermatology and skin biology.
Filaggrin plays a crucial role in maintaining skin hydration and integrity, and its dysregulation is linked to conditions such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Research on filaggrin is essential for understanding the pathogenesis of these diseases and developing targeted therapies to restore skin barrier function. The FLG Monoclonal Antibody offers researchers a reliable tool for investigating filaggrin biology and its implications for skin health and disease.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-92AA of human FLG (NP_002007.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is an intermediate filament-associated protein that aggregates keratin intermediate filaments in mammalian epidermis. It is initially synthesized as a polyprotein precursor, profilaggrin (consisting of multiple filaggrin units of 324 aa each), which is localized in keratohyalin granules, and is subsequently proteolytically processed into individual functional filaggrin molecules. Mutations in this gene are associated with ichthyosis vulgaris.
