Description
FLAG Monoclonal Antibody, IgG2b [PFLAGSHG] (CPAB0486)
The FLAG Monoclonal Antibody (IgG2b) (CPAB0486) is a highly specific antibody designed for research involving the FLAG tag, a small epitope that can be fused to a protein of interest for detection and purification purposes. The antibody, derived from mouse hybridoma cells, is able to specifically recognize the FLAG tag sequence, enabling easy detection and purification of FLAG-tagged proteins in various experimental setups. The FLAG tag is widely used in molecular biology and biochemistry research to study protein expression, localization, and interactions.
The CPAB0486 antibody is validated for use in multiple applications, including Western blot, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence, providing researchers with a versatile tool for their studies.Whether investigating protein-protein interactions, studying protein expression levels, or purifying recombinant proteins, the FLAG Monoclonal Antibody (IgG2b) (CPAB0486) offers reliable and specific detection of FLAG-tagged proteins, making it an essential tool for researchers in the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry, and biotechnology.

Background: | A fusion tag called FLAG consists of eight amino acids (AspTyrLysAspAspAspAspLys) including an enterokinase-cleavage site. FLAG is specifically designed for immunoaffinity chromatography. It allows elution under non-denaturing conditions. Several antibodies against this peptide have been developed. One antibody denoted as M1 binds the peptide in the presence of bivalent metal cations preferably Ca(+). Elution is effected by chelating agents. Another strategy is competitive elution with excess of free Flag Peptide. The FLAG peptide purifies and detects recombinant fusion proteins. FLAG peptide is useful in Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, immunoprecipitation, flow cytometry, protein purification, and in the study of protein-protein interactions, cell ultrastructure, and protein localization. Flag peptide is a hydrophilic tag which significantly improves the detection and purification of recombinant fusion proteins. |
