The FITC Anti-Rat CD45 Antibody (OX-1) is a crucial tool for researchers studying immune responses in rats. CD45 is a transmembrane protein tyrosine phosphatase found on all nucleated hematopoietic cells, making it a valuable marker for identifying and analyzing various immune cell populations. The FITC-conjugated antibody specifically recognizes the rat CD45 antigen, allowing for precise and sensitive detection in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications. This highly specific antibody, validated for rat samples, offers researchers a reliable means to distinguish immune cell subsets in experimental models.
By targeting CD45, a key player in immune cell signaling and activation, this antibody enables detailed characterization and functional analysis of immune cell populations in research areas like immunology, inflammation, and infectious diseases. With its excellent quality and performance, the FITC Anti-Rat CD45 Antibody (OX-1) is an essential tool for advancing our understanding of immune system dynamics in rat models.

Background:
CD45 is a 180-220 kD protein also known as leukocyte common antigen (LCA). It is a protein tyrosine phosphatase with multiple isoforms differing as a result of alternative splicing of the extracellular domain and glycosylation. CD45 is expressed on all hematopoietic cells except erythrocytes and platelets; isoform expression depends on cell type, activation state, and cell maturation. CD45 functions in signal transduction through T and B cell antigen receptors. CD45 has been shown to interact with various proteins including galectin-1, CD2, CD3, and CD4. The OX-1 antibody has been shown to partially inhibit NK cell-mediated lysis of syngeneic tumor cells in vitro.
