The FITC Anti-Human CD54 Antibody (15.2) offered by Assay Genie is a vital tool for researchers studying CD54, a cell surface glycoprotein involved in immune responses and cell adhesion processes. This antibody, specifically designed for use with human samples, is conjugated with FITC for easy visualization and detection in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications.CD54, also known as intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1), plays a crucial role in mediating interactions between endothelial cells and leukocytes during inflammatory responses. By targeting CD54, researchers can investigate the mechanisms underlying immune cell recruitment and adhesion, offering insights into various inflammatory disorders, infectious diseases, and autoimmune conditions.
The FITC Anti-Human CD54 Antibody (15.2) from Assay Genie provides high specificity and sensitivity, allowing for precise detection and quantification of CD54 expression on cell surfaces. Its application extends to immunology, inflammation research, and studies focusing on immune cell dynamics within the microenvironment. Enhance your research capabilities with this reliable antibody to unravel the intricacies of CD54-mediated immune responses.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD54 is a 85-110 kD type I transmembrane protein also known as ICAM-1. It is expressed on activated endothelial cells, high endothelial venules, T and B cells, monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, and dendritic cells. The expression of ICAM-1 can be released from the cell surface. CD54 plays a role in cellular adhesion and is involved in inflammation and leukocyte extravasation. CD54 has also been shown to be the major cellular receptor for rhinovirus. ICAM-1 binds to CD11a/CD18 (LFA-1), CD11b/CD18 (Mac-1), CD11c/CD18 (p150, 95) as well as hyaluronan and fibrinogen.
