The FITC Anti-Human CD4 Antibody (SK3) available at www.assaygenie.com is a high-quality product designed for research applications involving the CD4 protein, a key marker for T helper cells in the immune system. This antibody is conjugated with Fluorescein Isothiocyanate (FITC), enabling easy visualization and detection of CD4 in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence assays. The SK3 antibody specifically targets the human CD4 protein, allowing for precise and reliable identification of CD4-positive cells in various biological samples. It is highly sensitive and has been validated for use in a range of experimental settings, making it suitable for immunology research, vaccine development, and studies on infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS.
The CD4 molecule plays a crucial role in immune function, serving as a co-receptor for the binding of HIV to target cells and facilitating communication between different immune cell types. Understanding the expression and function of CD4 is essential for investigating immune responses, monitoring disease progression, and developing therapeutic interventions targeting CD4-positive cell populations.Overall, the FITC Anti-Human CD4 Antibody (SK3) from Assay Genie offers researchers a powerful tool for studying CD4 biology and immune system dynamics, providing valuable insights into immune cell interactions and immune-mediated diseases.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD4, also known as T4, is a 55 kD single-chain type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on most thymocytes, a subset of T cells, and monocytes/macrophages. CD4, a member of the Ig superfamily, recognizes antigens associated with MHC class II molecules and participates in cell-cell interactions, thymic differentiation, and signal transduction. CD4 acts as a primary receptor for HIV, binding to HIV gp120. CD4 has also been shown to interact with IL-16.
