Description
FITC Anti-Human CD22 Antibody [BU59]
The FITC Anti-Human CD22 Antibody (BU59) is a specialized research tool available at Assay Genie for studying CD22, a cell surface molecule predominantly expressed in B cells. This antibody is meticulously engineered for its high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, allowing for precise detection and analysis in various experimental settings.CD22, a member of the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) family, plays a vital role in B cell receptor signaling and B cell development. It is involved in modulating B cell activation and tolerance, making it a key target for investigations in immunology, particularly in the context of autoimmune diseases and B cell-related malignancies.
The FITC conjugation of this antibody provides a fluorescent marker that enables visualization and tracking of CD22 expression in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence assays. With its reliable performance and compatibility with a range of techniques, the FITC Anti-Human CD22 Antibody (BU59) is an invaluable tool for researchers exploring the functional roles of CD22 in both normal and pathological immune responses.

CD22 is a 130 kD type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as Siglec-2 and BL-CAM. It is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily (sialoadhesion subgroup). CD22 is expressed in the cytoplasm of pro-B and pre-B cells, and on the surface of mature B and activated B cells, but not on plasma cells. CD22 is present in the B cell receptor complex and associates with SHP-1, Syk, Lck, Lyn, and phospholipase Cγ1. A primary function of CD22 is thought to be in limiting antigen receptor signaling by modulating B cell activation threshold. CD22 has been shown to bind to CD45RO and CD75, although the natural ligands for this molecule remain controversial.
