The FGF2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17989) is a valuable tool for researchers studying fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2), a crucial factor in cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for detecting FGF2 in human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications.FGF2, also known as basic fibroblast growth factor, plays a key role in various physiological processes, including wound healing, angiogenesis, and development. Its involvement in cancer progression and other diseases makes it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
The FGF2 Polyclonal Antibody enables precise detection and analysis of FGF2 levels in different cell types, making it an essential tool for research in cell biology, oncology, and regenerative medicine.By utilizing this antibody, researchers can gain insights into the functions and mechanisms of FGF2, leading to a better understanding of its role in health and disease. Ultimately, this knowledge can facilitate the development of novel therapies targeting FGF2, with potential applications in cancer treatment and tissue regeneration.

Recombinant Protein corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 143-288 of FGF2 (NP_001997.5).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members bind heparin and possess broad mitogenic and angiogenic activities. This protein has been implicated in diverse biological processes, such as limb and nervous system development, wound healing, and tumor growth. The mRNA for this gene contains multiple polyadenylation sites, and is alternatively translated from non-AUG (CUG) and AUG initiation codons, resulting in five different isoforms with distinct properties. The CUG-initiated isoforms are localized in the nucleus and are responsible for the intracrine effect, whereas, the AUG-initiated form is mostly cytosolic and is responsible for the paracrine and autocrine effects of this FGF.
