The FGF13 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7895) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Fibroblast Growth Factor 13 (FGF13), a member of the FGF family known for its role in neuronal development and function. Raised in rabbits, this antibody is highly specific to FGF13 in human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications.FGF13 is involved in regulating neuronal excitability and synaptic transmission, making it crucial for proper brain function and neurological disorders. By binding to FGF13, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of FGF13 in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in neuroscience, neurodevelopment, and neurodegenerative diseases.
Understanding the function of FGF13 is important for unraveling the mechanisms behind neurological disorders such as epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease, and schizophrenia. With the FGF13 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can advance their studies and potentially uncover new insights into the pathophysiology of these conditions.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-245 of human FGF13 (NP_004105.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion. This gene is located in a region on chromosome X, which is associated with Borjeson-Forssman-Lehmann syndrome (BFLS), making it a possible candidate gene for familial cases of the BFLS, and for other syndromal and nonspecific forms of X-linked cognitive disability mapping to this region. Alternative splicing of this gene at the 5' end results in several transcript variants encoding different isoforms with different N-termini.
