The FBXW5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB9345) is a valuable tool for researchers studying FBXW5, a protein involved in the regulation of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and protein degradation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.FBXW5 is part of the SCF (Skp1-Cullin1-F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, which targets specific proteins for degradation by the proteasome. By targeting FBXW5, researchers can investigate its role in controlling the levels of key proteins within the cell, shedding light on its impact on various cellular functions.
Understanding the function of FBXW5 is essential for unraveling its role in cellular regulation and its potential implications in diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. By using the FBXW5 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and analyze FBXW5 protein levels in different cell types, aiding in the advancement of research in cell biology and disease mechanisms.

This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, members of which are characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. The F-box proteins constitute one of the four subunits of ubiquitin protein ligase complex called SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. The F-box proteins are divided into three classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains, Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing either different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs. The protein encoded by this gene contains WD-40 domains, in addition to an F-box motif, so it belongs to the Fbw class. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene, however, they were found to be nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) candidates, hence not represented.
