The FBX32 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB3699) is a cutting-edge tool designed for researchers studying FBX32, a protein involved in the regulation of muscle protein degradation and turnover. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for FBX32 in human samples, making it a reliable choice for Western blot applications. By targeting the FBX32 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in muscle biology and related fields. FBX32, also known as Atrogin-1, plays a crucial role in the breakdown of muscle proteins, a process that is tightly regulated and critical for muscle maintenance and function.
Dysregulation of FBX32 expression has been implicated in various muscle-wasting conditions and diseases, making it a valuable target for research into muscle atrophy, sarcopenia, and related disorders. By understanding the mechanisms by which FBX32 influences muscle protein turnover, researchers can develop targeted therapies aimed at preserving muscle mass and function in these pathological conditions.

This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family which is characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. The F-box proteins constitute one of the four subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex called SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. The F-box proteins are divided into 3 classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains, Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing either different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the Fbxs class and contains an F-box domain. This protein is highly expressed during muscle atrophy, whereas mice deficient in this gene were found to be resistant to atrophy. This protein is thus a potential drug target for the treatment of muscle atrophy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
