The FAAH2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB18554) is an essential tool for researchers studying FAAH2, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of fatty acid amides. This antibody, produced in rabbits, shows high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the FAAH2 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it ideal for research in the fields of lipid metabolism and neurological disorders.FAAH2 plays a crucial role in the endocannabinoid system, where it is responsible for breaking down endocannabinoids like anandamide.
Dysregulation of FAAH2 has been linked to various diseases, including pain disorders, anxiety, and inflammatory conditions. By understanding the function of FAAH2, researchers can explore novel therapeutic strategies for managing these conditions.Overall, the FAAH2 Polyclonal Antibody offers a valuable tool for studying the role of FAAH2 in health and disease, providing insights into potential therapeutic targets for a wide range of conditions related to lipid metabolism and neurological function.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 323-532 of human FAAH2 (NP_777572.2).
This gene encodes a fatty acid amide hydrolase that shares a conserved protein motif with the amidase signature family of enzymes. The encoded enzyme is able to catalyze the hydrolysis of a broad range of bioactive lipids, including those from the three main classes of fatty acid amides; N-acylethanolamines, fatty acid primary amides and N-acyl amino acids. This enzyme has a preference for monounsaturated acyl chains as a substrate. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
