The ERBB4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0749) is a research tool designed for studying the ERBB4 protein, a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications.ERBB4, also known as HER4, is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family and plays a crucial role in development and tissue homeostasis. Aberrant ERBB4 signaling has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurological disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
By detecting and quantifying ERBB4 protein levels in cell lysates or tissue samples, researchers can gain insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying disease pathogenesis and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for precision medicine approaches. The ERBB4 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for investigating the function and regulation of ERBB4 in both normal and diseased states, advancing our understanding of its role in human health and disease.

This gene is a member of the Tyr protein kinase family and the epidermal growth factor receptor subfamily. It encodes a single-pass type I membrane protein with multiple cysteine rich domains, a transmembrane domain, a tyrosine kinase domain, a phosphotidylinositol-3 kinase binding site and a PDZ domain binding motif. The protein binds to and is activated by neuregulins and other factors and induces a variety of cellular responses including mitogenesis and differentiation. Multiple proteolytic events allow for the release of a cytoplasmic fragment and an extracellular fragment. Mutations in this gene have been associated with cancer. Alternatively spliced variants which encode different protein isoforms have been described; however, not all variants have been fully characterized.
