The EPOR Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2917) is a valuable tool for research involving the EPOR protein, a receptor essential for the proper functioning of erythropoietin, a hormone responsible for regulating red blood cell production. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the EPOR protein, researchers can easily detect and analyze its expression in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal resource for studies in hematology and oncology. The EPOR protein is crucial for the regulation of erythropoiesis, the process by which red blood cells are produced in the body.
Dysregulation of EPOR signaling has been implicated in various hematological disorders, including anemia and certain types of leukemia. Understanding the role of EPOR in these conditions is essential for developing targeted therapies that can effectively treat or manage these diseases. The EPOR Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating the function of EPOR in both normal and diseased states, ultimately contributing to advancements in the field of hematology.

This gene encodes the erythropoietin receptor which is a member of the cytokine receptor family. Upon erythropoietin binding, this receptor activates Jak2 tyrosine kinase which activates different intracellular pathways including: Ras/MAP kinase, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase and STAT transcription factors. The stimulated erythropoietin receptor appears to have a role in erythroid cell survival. Defects in the erythropoietin receptor may produce erythroleukemia and familial erythrocytosis. Dysregulation of this gene may affect the growth of certain tumors. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
