The ENSA Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15665) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the ENSA protein, a crucial regulator of cell cycle progression and mitotic spindle integrity. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the ENSA protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its expression in various cell types.ENSA, also known as α-endosulfine, is involved in the regulation of cell proliferation and division, making it a key player in processes like DNA replication and chromosome segregation.
Dysregulation of ENSA has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target. By delving into the mechanisms by which ENSA influences cell cycle progression, researchers can gain valuable insights into disease pathogenesis and potential treatment strategies.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a highly conserved cAMP-regulated phosphoprotein (ARPP) family. This protein was identified as an endogenous ligand for the sulfonylurea receptor, ABCC8/SUR1. ABCC8 is the regulatory subunit of the ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channel, which is located on the plasma membrane of pancreatic beta cells and plays a key role in the control of insulin release from pancreatic beta cells. This protein is thought to be an endogenous regulator of KATP channels. In vitro studies have demonstrated that this protein modulates insulin secretion through the interaction with KATP channel, and this gene has been proposed as a candidate gene for type 2 diabetes. At least eight alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
