Description
ELK3 Antibody (PACO55470)
The Elk3 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC055470) is an essential tool for researchers studying the Elk3 protein, a transcription factor involved in regulating gene expression and cell proliferation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to Elk3 and has been validated for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications.Elk3 is known to play a crucial role in various cellular processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and survival. Dysregulation of Elk3 has been linked to cancer development and progression, making it a prime target for cancer research. By using the Elk3 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can effectively detect and analyze Elk3 protein levels in different cell types, aiding in the understanding of its role in cancer biology.
With its high reactivity with human samples, the Elk3 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for studying Elk3 function in both normal and diseased tissues. Its application in immunohistochemistry allows for the visualization of Elk3 expression patterns, providing insights into its potential as a therapeutic target for cancer treatment. Researchers studying Elk3 will benefit greatly from incorporating this antibody into their experimental protocols.

IHC image of PACO55470 diluted at 1:500 and staining in paraffin-embedded human lung tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. | |

Background: | May be a negative regulator of transcription, but can activate transcription when coexpressed with Ras, Src or Mos. Forms a ternary complex with the serum response factor and the ETS and SRF motifs of the Fos serum response element. |
Synonyms: | ETS domain-containing protein Elk-3 (ETS-related protein ERP) (ETS-related protein NET) (Serum response factor accessory protein 2) (SAP-2) (SRF accessory protein 2), ELK3, NET SAP2 |
UniProt Protein Function: | ELK3: a transcription factor of the ETS-domain transcription factor family and the ternary complex factor (TCF) subfamily. May be a negative regulator of transcription but can activate transcription when co expressed with Ras, Src or Mos. Activated by signal-induced phosphorylation; studies in rodents suggest that it is a transcriptional inhibitor in the absence of Ras, but activates transcription when Ras is present. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:DNA-binding; Transcription factor Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q23 Cellular Component: intracellular membrane-bound organelle; mitochondrion; nucleoplasm; nucleus Molecular Function:protein binding; purine-rich negative regulatory element binding; transcription corepressor activity Biological Process: cell differentiation; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; signal transduction |
NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a member of the ETS-domain transcription factor family and the ternary complex factor (TCF) subfamily. Proteins in this subfamily regulate transcription when recruited by serum response factor to bind to serum response elements. This protein is activated by signal-induced phosphorylation; studies in rodents suggest that it is a transcriptional inhibitor in the absence of Ras, but activates transcription when Ras is present. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015] |
