The EIF2S1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0764) is a valuable tool for researchers studying EIF2S1, a key protein involved in the regulation of protein synthesis in cells. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. It specifically binds to the EIF2S1 protein, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types.EIF2S1, also known as eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 subunit 1, plays a crucial role in the initiation of protein synthesis and is essential for cellular functions. Dysregulation of EIF2S1 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
Research on EIF2S1 is important for understanding its impact on cellular processes and developing targeted therapies for related conditions.By using the EIF2S1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0764), researchers can gain valuable insights into the functions and regulation of EIF2S1, leading to advancements in the fields of molecular biology, cell biology, and disease research. Its ability to specifically target EIF2S1 makes it an ideal tool for studying the role of this protein in health and disease.

The translation initiation factor EIF2 catalyzes the first regulated step of protein synthesis initiation, promoting the binding of the initiator tRNA to 40S ribosomal subunits. Binding occurs as a ternary complex of methionyl-tRNA, EIF2, and GTP. EIF2 is composed of 3 nonidentical subunits, the 36-kD EIF2-alpha subunit (EIF2S1), the 38-kD EIF2-beta subunit (EIF2S2; MIM 603908), and the 52-kD EIF2-gamma subunit (EIF2S3; MIM 300161). The rate of formation of the ternary complex is modulated by the phosphorylation state of EIF2-alpha (Ernst et al., 1987 [PubMed 2948954]).
