Description
EGF Receptor (E746-A750del Specific) Polyclonal Antibody (CAB23256)
The EGF Receptor E746-A750del Specific Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying a specific mutation in the EGF receptor that is commonly found in non-small cell lung cancers. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. The E746-A750del mutation in the EGF receptor results in the deletion of amino acids 746 to 750, leading to constitutive activation of the receptor and driving cancer cell growth and proliferation.
By using this antibody, researchers can accurately detect and analyze the presence of this mutation in cancer cell lines and patient samples, allowing for a better understanding of the role of this mutation in cancer development and progression. With its high specificity and reliability, the EGF Receptor E746-A750del Specific Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers interested in studying the molecular mechanisms underlying non-small cell lung cancer and exploring potential therapeutic strategies targeting the EGF receptor mutation.

The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. This protein is a receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds to epidermal growth factor, thus inducing receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation leading to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are associated with lung cancer. EGFR is a component of the cytokine storm which contributes to a severe form of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) resulting from infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2).
