The EGF Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2720) is a valuable tool for researchers studying epidermal growth factor (EGF), a key protein involved in cell growth and differentiation processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot applications. EGF is a crucial growth factor that plays a vital role in cell proliferation, survival, and migration. Dysregulation of EGF signaling has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, where it promotes tumor growth and metastasis. By using the EGF Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can detect and quantify EGF expression in different cell types, providing insights into its roles in normal physiology and disease.
The ability to accurately measure EGF levels and activity is essential for understanding its impact on cell behavior and identifying potential therapeutic targets for diseases where EGF signaling is dysregulated. With its high specificity and sensitivity, the EGF Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for studies in cancer biology, developmental biology, and other fields where EGF plays a critical role.

This gene encodes a member of the epidermal growth factor superfamily. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the 53-amino acid epidermal growth factor peptide. This protein acts a potent mitogenic factor that plays an important role in the growth, proliferation and differentiation of numerous cell types. This protein acts by binding with high affinity to the cell surface receptor, epidermal growth factor receptor. Defects in this gene are the cause of hypomagnesemia type 4. Dysregulation of this gene has been associated with the growth and progression of certain cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed.
