The EDARADD Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15950) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the EDARADD protein, a key player in the NF-κB signaling pathway. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the EDARADD protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in signal transduction and inflammation.
EDARADD, also known as EDAR-associated death domain, is crucial in mediating signaling pathways involved in the development of ectodermal structures like hair, teeth, and sweat glands. Its involvement in NF-κB activation makes it a promising target for research into inflammatory conditions, skin disorders, and developmental biology. Understanding the function of EDARADD is essential for advancing knowledge in these areas and developing potential therapeutic interventions.

This gene was identified by its association with ectodermal dysplasia, a genetic disorder characterized by defective development of hair, teeth, and eccrine sweat glands. The protein encoded by this gene is a death domain-containing protein, and is found to interact with EDAR, a death domain receptor known to be required for the development of hair, teeth and other ectodermal derivatives. This protein and EDAR are coexpressed in epithelial cells during the formation of hair follicles and teeth. Through its interaction with EDAR, this protein acts as an adaptor, and links the receptor to downstream signaling pathways. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
