The DUSP8 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17990) is a valuable tool for researchers studying DUSP8, a dual-specificity phosphatase involved in the regulation of various signaling pathways. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is ideal for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the DUSP8 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of DUSP8 in a variety of cell types, making it well-suited for research in the fields of cell signaling, cancer biology, and molecular biology.DUSP8, also known as MAP kinase phosphatase 5 (MKP-5), plays a crucial role in the control of MAP kinase signaling cascades, which are involved in numerous cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.
Dysregulation of DUSP8 activity has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, inflammatory disorders, and neurological conditions. Therefore, understanding the function of DUSP8 is essential for elucidating its role in disease pathogenesis and identifying potential therapeutic targets.Overall, the DUSP8 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17990) provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating the function and regulation of DUSP8 in a range of biological contexts, ultimately contributing to advancements in biomedical research and drug discovery.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the dual specificity protein phosphatase subfamily. These phosphatases inactivate their target kinases by dephosphorylating both the phosphoserine/threonine and phosphotyrosine residues. They negatively regulate members of the mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase superfamily (MAPK/ERK, SAPK/JNK, p38), which is associated with cellular proliferation and differentiation. Different members of the family of dual specificity phosphatases show distinct substrate specificities for various MAP kinases, different tissue distribution and subcellular localization, and different modes of inducibility of their expression by extracellular stimuli. This gene product inactivates SAPK/JNK and p38, is expressed predominantly in the adult brain, heart, and skeletal muscle, is localized in the cytoplasm, and is induced by nerve growth factor and insulin. An intronless pseudogene for DUSP8 is present on chromosome 10q11.2.
