Description
DUSP7 Antibody (PACO43728)
The DUSP7 Antibody (PAC043728) is a polyclonal antibody specifically designed for research involving DUSP7, a dual-specificity phosphatase enzyme involved in the regulation of cellular signaling pathways. Raised in rabbits, this antibody is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting.DUSP7 plays a critical role in the dephosphorylation of specific target proteins, thereby modulating various cellular processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Its involvement in key signaling pathways makes it an important target for research in areas such as cancer biology, cell signaling, and drug development.
By detecting and analyzing the expression of DUSP7 in different cell types, this antibody can provide valuable insights into the function and regulation of this enzyme, ultimately contributing to the understanding of its role in disease processes. Researchers in immunology, oncology, and molecular biology can benefit from the use of this antibody to further investigate the mechanisms underlying cell signaling and potential therapeutic interventions.

Background: | Regulates the activity of the MAP kinase family in response to changes in the cellular environment. PYST2-S may act as a negative regulator of PYST2-L although it is unclear whether this is by competing for transcription, translation or activation factors. |
Synonyms: | Dual specificity protein phosphatase 7 (EC 3.1.3.16) (EC 3.1.3.48) (Dual specificity protein phosphatase PYST2), DUSP7, PYST2 |

NCBI Summary: | Dual-specificity phosphatases (DUSPs) constitute a large heterogeneous subgroup of the type I cysteine-based protein-tyrosine phosphatase superfamily. DUSPs are characterized by their ability to dephosphorylate both tyrosine and serine/threonine residues. DUSP7 belongs to a class of DUSPs, designated MKPs, that dephosphorylate MAPK (mitogen-activated protein kinase) proteins ERK (see MIM 601795), JNK (see MIM 601158), and p38 (see MIM 600289) with specificity distinct from that of individual MKP proteins. MKPs contain a highly conserved C-terminal catalytic domain and an N-terminal Cdc25 (see MIM 116947)-like (CH2) domain. MAPK activation cascades mediate various physiologic processes, including cellular proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, and stress responses (summary by Patterson et al., 2009 [PubMed 19228121]).[supplied by OMIM, Dec 2009] |
