The DSG2 Polyclonal Antibody is a vital tool for researchers studying the function of desmoglein-2 (DSG2), a transmembrane glycoprotein that plays a key role in cell-cell adhesion in epithelial tissues. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blotting and immunohistochemistry applications.DSG2 is a critical component of desmosomes, cell junctions that provide strong adhesion between epithelial cells. Dysregulation of DSG2 has been linked to various diseases, including skin disorders and cardiomyopathies.
By targeting DSG2 with this antibody, researchers can investigate its expression levels and localization in different tissues, providing insights into its role in disease pathogenesis. With its high reactivity and specificity, the DSG2 Polyclonal Antibody is an invaluable tool for studying the biology of DSG2 and its potential as a therapeutic target in conditions related to abnormal cell adhesion. Whether in basic science research or drug development efforts, this antibody offers reliable results and a deeper understanding of DSG2 function.

This gene encodes a member of the desmoglein family and cadherin cell adhesion molecule superfamily of proteins. Desmogleins are calcium-binding transmembrane glycoprotein components of desmosomes, cell-cell junctions between epithelial, myocardial, and other cell types. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature glycoprotein. This gene is present in a gene cluster with other desmoglein gene family members on chromosome 18. Mutations in this gene have been associated with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, familial, 10.
