The DRD2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12930) is a valuable tool for research involving DRD2, a dopamine receptor implicated in neurological and psychiatric disorders. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting. By binding to the DRD2 protein, this antibody allows for detection and analysis in different cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in neuroscience and drug development.
DRD2, also known as the dopamine D2 receptor, plays a critical role in the regulation of dopamine signaling in the brain. Dysregulation of DRD2 activity has been associated with conditions such as schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, and addiction. The ability to study and manipulate DRD2 expression and function with this antibody is essential for advancing our understanding of these complex disorders and developing targeted therapies to treat them.

This gene encodes the D2 subtype of the dopamine receptor. This G-protein coupled receptor inhibits adenylyl cyclase activity. A missense mutation in this gene causes myoclonus dystonia; other mutations have been associated with schizophrenia. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms. A third variant has been described, but it has not been determined whether this form is normal or due to aberrant splicing.
