The DPYD Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1620) is a valuable tool for research involving DPYD, a key enzyme involved in the metabolism of fluoropyrimidines, such as 5-fluorouracil. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications.DPYD plays a crucial role in the breakdown of fluoropyrimidines, which are commonly used in cancer chemotherapy. Mutations in the DPYD gene can lead to decreased enzyme activity and increased risk of severe toxicity from fluoropyrimidine-based treatments.
Research into DPYD levels and activity can help personalize chemotherapy regimens and improve patient outcomes.By detecting and analyzing DPYD expression levels, researchers can better understand drug metabolism pathways and identify individuals at risk for adverse reactions to fluoropyrimidine-based therapies. The DPYD Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for studies in pharmacogenomics, personalized medicine, and cancer research.
Product Name:
DPYD Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB1620
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit
Reactivity:
Human,Mouse
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-173 of human DPYD (NP_000101.2).
The protein encoded by this gene is a pyrimidine catabolic enzyme and the initial and rate-limiting factor in the pathway of uracil and thymidine catabolism. Mutations in this gene result in dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase deficiency, an error in pyrimidine metabolism associated with thymine-uraciluria and an increased risk of toxicity in cancer patients receiving 5-fluorouracil chemotherapy. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Purification Method:
Affinity purification
Gene ID:
1806
