The DNase2B Polyclonal Antibody (PAC063975) is a specialized tool for researchers studying DNase2B, an enzyme involved in DNA degradation and immune response modulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been rigorously validated for Western blot applications. By targeting the DNase2B protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it a valuable asset for studies in immunology and oncology research.DNase2B, a critical player in the degradation of DNA from apoptotic cells, plays a crucial role in maintaining immune homeostasis by controlling inflammation and facilitating tissue repair.
Its involvement in immune regulation underscores its importance as a target for investigation in diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and inflammatory conditions. A comprehensive understanding of DNase2B function is essential for the development of novel therapies that modulate immune responses in these pathological contexts.

NCBI Summary:
The protein encoded by this gene shares considerable sequence similarity to, and is structurally related to DNase II. The latter is a well characterized endonuclease that catalyzes DNA hydrolysis in the absence of divalent cations at acidic pH. Unlike DNase II which is ubiquitously expressed, expression of this gene product is restricted to the salivary gland and lungs. The gene has been localized to chromosome 1p22.3 adjacent (and in opposite orientation) to the uricase pseudogene. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
