The DLD Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5403) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the DLD protein, which plays a key role in mitochondrial function and energy metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, shows high reactivity with human samples and is specifically validated for use in Western blot applications.DLD, also known as dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase, is a crucial enzyme involved in the citric acid cycle and electron transport chain within mitochondria. Dysregulation of DLD has been implicated in a variety of metabolic disorders and diseases, making it an important target for research in areas such as metabolism, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders.
By using the DLD Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5403), researchers can accurately detect and analyze the DLD protein in various cell types, providing valuable insights into its function and potential therapeutic interventions. This antibody is a valuable tool for those studying mitochondrial function and energy metabolism, offering new opportunities for advancements in disease treatment and prevention.

This gene encodes a member of the class-I pyridine nucleotide-disulfide oxidoreductase family. The encoded protein has been identified as a moonlighting protein based on its ability to perform mechanistically distinct functions. In homodimeric form, the encoded protein functions as a dehydrogenase and is found in several multi-enzyme complexes that regulate energy metabolism. However, as a monomer, this protein can function as a protease. Mutations in this gene have been identified in patients with E3-deficient maple syrup urine disease and lipoamide dehydrogenase deficiency. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
