The DFFB Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10110) is a vital tool for researchers studying DNA fragmentation factor subunit beta (DFFB), a key player in apoptosis, or programmed cell death. This rabbit-derived antibody is highly specific to human samples and has been extensively validated for use in Western blot applications. By recognizing and binding to the DFFB protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of DFFB expression in various cell types, making it an essential asset for studies in cell biology, cancer research, and drug development.DFFB is a crucial component of the caspase-activated DNase (CAD) complex, which is responsible for the fragmentation of DNA during apoptosis.
Dysregulation of DFFB expression or activity has been linked to various pathological conditions, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and autoimmune disorders. By understanding the role of DFFB in apoptosis and cell death, researchers can potentially identify new therapeutic targets for treating these diseases. In conclusion, the CAB10110 DFFB Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers aiming to explore the mechanisms of apoptosis and cell death. Its high specificity and reliability in Western blot applications make it an indispensable resource for studies investigating the role of DFFB in health and disease.

Apoptosis is a cell death process that removes toxic and/or useless cells during mammalian development. The apoptotic process is accompanied by shrinkage and fragmentation of the cells and nuclei and degradation of the chromosomal DNA into nucleosomal units. DNA fragmentation factor (DFF) is a heterodimeric protein of 40-kD (DFFB) and 45-kD (DFFA) subunits. DFFA is the substrate for caspase-3 and triggers DNA fragmentation during apoptosis. DFF becomes activated when DFFA is cleaved by caspase-3. The cleaved fragments of DFFA dissociate from DFFB, the active component of DFF. DFFB has been found to trigger both DNA fragmentation and chromatin condensation during apoptosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene but the biological validity of some of these variants has not been determined.
