The Desmocollin-2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10211) is a valuable tool for research involving Desmocollin-2, a member of the desmocollin family of cadherins that plays a critical role in cell-cell adhesion in epithelial tissues. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific and reacts strongly with human samples, making it an ideal choice for experiments in immunohistochemistry and Western blotting.Desmocollin-2 is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of tissues by facilitating cell adhesion and communication. Dysregulation of Desmocollin-2 has been implicated in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders, skin conditions, and certain cancers.
By targeting Desmocollin-2 with this antibody, researchers can gain insights into its function and potential therapeutic applications in these disease contexts.Furthermore, this antibody offers researchers the ability to detect and analyze Desmocollin-2 expression in a variety of cell types and tissues, providing valuable information for studies in cell biology, developmental biology, and pathology. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a reliable tool for examining the role of Desmocollin-2 in various physiological and pathological processes.

This gene encodes a member of the desmocollin protein subfamily. Desmocollins, along with desmogleins, are cadherin-like transmembrane glycoproteins that are major components of the desmosome. Desmosomes are cell-cell junctions that help resist shearing forces and are found in high concentrations in cells subject to mechanical stress. This gene is found in a cluster with other desmocollin family members on chromosome 18. Mutations in this gene are associated with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia-11, and reduced protein expression has been described in several types of cancer. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
